Hello all, so if you are familiar with my previous blog I posted tons of information about healthy skin care, beauty, makeup and all those beautiful exciting things. Most importantly I took my readers on a journey of what works for me, and what I refuse to ever give up. I recently received an email from one of my fabulous readers asking for advice on something new she should try for her acne prone skin. Now, I'm not your dermatologist or your dietician, but I do work in the Beauty Industry and will tell you what I love and what works insanely amazing for me!
Here's my routine,
Since my skin tends to be on the normal to combination side, I usually refer to cleansers that are oil-free, yet energizing especially in the morning. In this case I refer to one of my favorite skin care lines called Ole Henriksen.
'On the Go Cleanser' ,filled with vitamin C and vitamin E to repair and prevent damage to the skin, tons of extracts to re-texturize and soften your skin. I love everything about this product.
Next, MOISTURIZER!! I love makeup and I'm accustomed to hearing "Makeup clogs pores, can cause breakouts, blah blah blah!". I still love it and will continue to wear it. So I know before applying my foundation, I need to ensure that my skin is nurtured underneath. I prefer something lightweight and oil-free. Kiehl's is my GO TO, the
Ultra Facial Oil-Free Lotion. What I love most about this moisturizer is the consistency, so soft and a pea sized amount will get you through the day. I can never stress how important it is to take care of your skin both morning and night.
At night things change...sounds creepy huh! What many of us don't know is while we sleep, our skin doesn't. It's constantly working to repair itself, so we have to ensure that our night regime is effective and filled with vitamins. I begin simply with cleansing, and being that I am all for a BEAT face (you will hear me say that often), meaning I love a face full of foundation, blush, gloss, eyeshadow, THE WORKS! I need to make sure I am thoroughly but gently cleansing everything off at night. I have TWO favorites, first is
Philosophy's Purity Face Cleanser or
Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cleanser. Both are so gentle and removes makeup that's been on for hours!
Lastly, my night moisturizer. Now I've tried and tried for months to find something comforting, full of vitamins, smells amazing and WORKS! When I tried
Ole Henriksen's Vitamin Plus moisturizer, my initial reaction was "(
insert profanity) YEA!" I fell in love. It moisturizes and heals my skin. Especially after a long day, I need to know that while I'm getting my beauty rest, so is my skin. This moisturizer is filled with Vitamins A, C, D & E, that work in synergy to enhance the effectiveness of each nutrient. What else can one's skin ask for!
